NORM/TENORM

Michigan Disposal Waste Treatment Plant and Wayne Disposal, Inc., located in Belleville, MI are both permitted to accept wastes containing naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM), technically enhanced naturally occurring radioactive material (TENORM), and materials exempted from the State of Michigan and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  

Common sources of NORM and TENORM include, but not limited to oil and gas extraction and processing operations, mining wastes, energy production wastes, wastewater treatment, and some consumer products.  The facilities will manage NORM and TENORM waste safely within regulatory guidelines.
